Description: A Backhoe/Loader is a self-propelled, wheeled machine used within the civil industry. A Backhoe/Loader's primary purpose is to lift, transport and discharge material and comes equipped with a front-mounted bucket and rear-mounted backhoe attachment. The Backhoe attachment digs into the ground to excavate materials. At the same time, the bucket lifts, swings, and moves the materials toward the stationed machine and then into the discharge area. The Backhoe attachment adds weight and length to the machine, which needs to be accounted for when operating it. For the Backhoe/Loader to be used economically and safely, the operator must receive adequate training. This course focuses on the skills and knowledge required to Conduct Backhoe/Loader Operations in the Resources and Infrastructure Industries.
